Goldeneye: The Strength Grading Solution to Revolutionize the Mass Timber Industry
Join MiCROTEC at International Mass Timber Conference and Explore our Strength Grading Solutions
This March, the MiCROTEC team joins System TM, Kallesoe Machinery, and Stiles Machinery at International Mass Timber Conference, March 26-28 in Portland Oregon, Booth #628. The conference features educational sessions and exhibitions from mass timber experts across the industry supply chain.
MiCROTEC offers cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glue-laminated timber (GLT) strength grading scanning and optimization solutions for the mass timber industry in both the Goldeneye lineal and transverse with Viscan. These configurations are certified for MSR grading. MiCROTEC's scanning solutions significantly increase speed, accuracy, and overall yield when compared with traditional methods.
The grading scanners Goldeneye 706 and Viscan determine modulus of elasticity (MOE) by measuring the density via X-ray and resonant frequency with a high-performance laser vibrometer. The MOE is combined with the visual data from the Goldeneye to then cross-cut optimize and sort boards into different grades according to ANSI or CSA grading rules. The Goldeneye 706 determines not only an average MOE for the board, but a MOE profile over the full length of the board. Therefore, the yield can be significantly increased by removing weak parts of the board.
For accurate moisture or warp measurement, MiCROTEC's M3 Scan moisture meter and Warpscan 3D board shape scanners may be integrated into the solution.
